Denis Jonson Video

I was interested to check out some of Denis Johnson's youtube videos because as an author, I find him very intriguing. I think his writing is very well described and easily relatable, but at the same time, he lines all his work with religious undertones that sometimes take multiple reads to unveil. I was wondering if I would connect as much with Johnson through his spoken word as I do with him on the page. I found, through several youtube videos I watched, that his voice was calming and normal. I thought his voice matched his writing style, and for me, that made his videos very easy to listen to.

Paulo Coelho's professional Facebook page with over 10 million likes has to be one of the most visited and appreciated sites in writing. A genius by no stretch of the word, applies his mastery of language even to modern media. This may seem strange for an individual so closely connected to nature and the soul, but his involvement in the site is really a testament to the ever evolving world of literature. Paulo's understanding of the reach of new media and Facebook in particular underlines the importance of self promotion through social networking. Coelho's page consists of pictures of music and nature and is covered in personal quotes in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Some quotes are inspiration, others reflective, but they all epitomize P.C.'s style of writing and tone of voice. One of his recent quotes I found interesting I'll paste here...
